To build up, one must lay a strong foundation. Building upon their shared passion and principles, Co-founders Bunmi Giwa-Bello and Casandra Mead forged a women and minority-owned agency that is becoming a reputable force in the event production industry.
Their ambitions eventually drove them to further develop their talents and networks on opposite coasts. Bunmi spent over a decade working for a large NYC event production house collaborating with the industry’s top professionals. Her experience leading large-scale designs and high-end projects gave her a keen eye for technical design and production management.
Across the land in San Diego, Casandra became an in-demand independent consultant in business development and marketing. Working with cutting edge technology, complex marketing campaigns, and venture capital funding, she formed the skills and savvy to construct just about anything from the ground up.
Sharing a knack for bringing people together by creating experiences, Bunmi and Casandra found themselves close friends as college roommates. The duo produced their first joint venture in event production back in 2002. Needless to say, they were hooked for life.
Serendipity is always a factor in great adventures. It didn’t take long for these two dreamers to embark on paths that led them both to BlackHouse – the culmination of their collective experience and desire to constantly grow. Since its launch in 2016, they have been on a non-stop upward spiral, producing large-scale events, alongside incredible agencies, reputable brands, and non-profit partners.
